Welcome Reception and Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony

Open to alumni from all UWSOM degree programs, regardless of graduation year.
Cocktail attire is recommended for this special event.

Join us on the stunning grounds of The Lodge at St. Edward Park as we kick off your Reunion Weekend at our outdoor welcome reception. You’ll hear from our new dean and CEO, Dr. Tim Dellit, while you enjoy WWAMI themed hors d’oeuvres and local beer and wine. We’ll also celebrate our 2024 Distinguished Alumni Awards recipients. And you’ll have plenty of time to mingle and catch up with your classmates!

Start the day by joining our keynote speaker, Helen Chu, MD, Fel. ’12, MPH, for her fascinating presentation, “A Story of the Pandemic: Seattle’s COVID-19 Research.” Dr. Chu was named the 2021 Washingtonian of the Year in recognition of her groundbreaking work as a principal investigator of the Seattle Flu Study, which identified the first case of the novel coronavirus in the U.S. and whose work led to COVID-19 therapies and treatments. Come mingle and enjoy light refreshments with your classmates before the talk begins. All UWSOM alumni are welcome at this free event, regardless of your class year!

State of the School Luncheon

A Gathering for the 50-Year Association and Friends of the UW School of Medicine
12–1:30 p.m.
Cost: $50

Join us for a private, celebratory lunch for the classes of 1974, 1969, 1964, 1959 and 1954 and all members of the 50-Year Association, along with longtime faculty and UW School of Medicine volunteers.

Enjoy a locally sourced and seasonally inspired Pacific Northwest dining experience from the award-winning chef of Cedar + Elm Restaurant. While you dine, you’ll hear from Tim Dellit, MD, dean and CEO of the UW School of Medicine, on the changing landscape of medical education, recent medical breakthroughs and future plans for the School. Afternoon Activities – Self-Guided

Take a convenient shuttle to various nearby destinations and enjoy your choice of activities! Or explore the beautiful grounds and luxurious amenities offered at the Lodge.

Here are just a few ideas for your afternoon adventure:

Book a Woodinville wine tasting
Shop at Bellevue Square
Tour the Lodge and learn about its fascinating history and recent renovation
Visit the on-site spa and workout room
Play a game of pickleball
Enjoy games in the library
Take a trail walk and explore the park’s lake views and forested grounds

All-Class Celebration

Cost: $175
Join us for a Roaring (‘20s) good time! Cocktail attire suggested; Gatsby spats and flapper fringe are encouraged, though not required.

6–7 p.m. – Cocktail/Mocktail Hour
Let’s kick the night off in grand style! We’ll come together for an all-class celebration with entertainment, beer, wine, a signature cocktail and light appetizers.

7–9 p.m. – All-Class Dinner
The classes of 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019, plus the 50-year association (all alumni of 50+ years), will gather for an evening of reconnecting and reminiscing. Find your graduating year’s class table and enjoy a delicious, seasonally inspired three-course plated dinner, beer, wine and live music while you catch up with your former classmates.

9–10 p.m. – After-Party in the Speakeasy
The party is just getting started! After our all-class dinner, join your classmates for a special after-party featuring entertainment, snacks and a no-host bar.

Alumni Picnic in St. Edward Park

11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Cost: Adults $50 (includes lunch, two drink tickets per adult and entertainment);
kids 10 and over $20; kids under 10 complimentary
Open to alumni from all UWSOM degree programs, regardless of graduation year.

Bring your family for a picnic in the park! You’ll enjoy a casual buffet-style BBQ lunch with kid-friendly options, plus local brews and wine for the adults. Family-friendly activities include outdoor games, a playground, local ice cream and tours of the chef’s garden and honeybee apiary. Stay tuned for an update about a special furry guest who may be joining us for photo opportunities!
